Optical Transmittance and Optical Density Meter
Linshang optical transmittance meters
How to Choose an Optical Transmittance Meter: Wavelength, Spot Size, and Sample Thickness
For lenses and blue-light filtering materials, consider the LS108; for IR apertures in phone cover glass and remote-control windows, compare the LS108A and LS108D; for UV, IR, and visible-light transmittance of small transparent samples, consider the LS108H; and for window films and larger glass samples, compare the LS182 and LS183.
Transmittance at a specified wavelength and weighted visible-light transmittance represent different measurements. Before selecting a model, confirm the required wavelength range, measurement spot size, whether the sample fits the measuring area, and whether batch records are needed.
Choose by Sample and Test Objective
LS108 | Lenses and Blue-Light Filtering Materials
Compare 430 nm blue-light, 395 nm violet-light, and visible-light transmittance in lenses, coated materials, and screen protectors. For quality control of blue-light filtering materials, first confirm the specified wavelength and evaluation method.
LS108A/LS108D | IR Apertures and Infrared Windows
Measure transmittance at 550 nm visible light and 850/940 nm infrared. Suitable for IR ink apertures in phone cover glass, remote-control windows, and infrared filter materials. LS108A aperture: 1 mm; LS108D aperture: 0.5 mm, depending on the effective spot size and alignment requirements.
LS108H | Small Transparent Samples
A benchtop parallel-beam design for evaluating 365 nm UV, 940 nm IR, and visible-light transmittance in glass, PC, PMMA, and coated materials. Suitable for measuring small samples; confirm the aperture and accommodated thickness for the supplied version.
LS182/LS183 | Window Films and Thicker Glass
LS182 is intended for comparing visible transmittance and blocking performance of window films and filmed glass; LS183 measures 365 nm UV, 940 nm IR, and visible-light transmittance, and is suitable for flat transparent materials such as glass, PC, and PMMA. For both models, confirm that the sample size and thickness fit the test slot.
Specified-Band Transmittance Is Not a Full Spectrum or Optical Density
850 nm and 940 nm are different infrared measurement points; a single-wavelength reading at 550 nm is also not equivalent to weighted visible-light transmittance. These models measure through specified light-source channels, so multiple readings should not be treated as a continuous full transmittance spectrum.
If optical density (OD) is required, or if the sample is a scattering material such as milky or frosted plastic, consider the LS117 optical density meter; for haze or total luminous transmittance to a specified standard, compare haze meters and transmittance measurement systems.

The LS108A Lens Transmittance Meter is designed to test transmittance in mobile phone cover-glass IR ink openings, remote-control windows, IR-cut filters, infrared-technology products, screen protectors and lens materials. Its three-in-one optical path measures transmittance at 550 nm visible light, 850 nm infrared and 940 nm infrared with one alignment. The 1 mm measuring aperture is suitable for samples larger than 1 mm. The meter supports incoming inspection of optical components, process quality control, batch comparison and pre-shipment checks.
Contact our team to confirm the configuration and measurement conditions for your sample.
The LS108D lens transmittance meter is designed to test infrared transmittance through IR-ink openings in phone cover glass, very small light-transmitting apertures, remote-control windows, IR-cut filters, screen protectors, and lens materials. Compared with the LS108A 1 mm measuring aperture, the LS108D features a 0.5 mm micro-aperture for testing smaller openings or areas with limited measurement space. Confirm the model according to sample aperture, positioning method, test wavelengths, and quality-control workflow.

Designed for glass, PC, PMMA, coated glass and thick transparent materials
The LS108H spectrum transmission meter is suitable for optical transmittance testing of glass, PC, PMMA, acrylic, coated glass, transparent plastics and thicker transparent samples. Compared with the LS108A/LS108D, which focus on IR holes and small apertures in mobile-phone lenses, the LS108H is better suited to thicker materials, larger transparent areas and multi-band light transmission checks.
Please confirm suitability based on sample thickness, material, wavelength band, surface condition and quality-control requirements.
The LS152 monitors coating thickness and uniformity on thin-film production lines by measuring optical transmittance and optical density (OD). System configuration and calibration criteria depend on the coating and production setup; contact our team to discuss your application.
The LS183 Optical Transmittance Meter measures UV, visible-light and infrared transmittance in glass, filmed glass, heat-insulating coatings, PMMA, PC, acrylic and transparent plastics. Its parallel optical path and 47 mm sample slot accommodate samples under 47 mm thick. Use it for incoming inspection, quality sampling and window-film acceptance; confirm suitability against sample material, dimensions, test bands and quality requirements.
