Product Overview

ColorReader CR6 Color Reader | Bluetooth, Color Search & Color Difference Assessment

ColorReader CR6 is a portable tool for color measurement, color reading, color-card search, and color-difference assessment. Connect it to a mobile app via Bluetooth to view color data on site, compare similar color cards, and make preliminary color-difference evaluations.

CR6 is suitable for design proofing, paint and ink matching, packaging color checks, customer-sample comparison, on-site color communication, and basic quality control. For strict supply-chain acceptance, full spectral data, multi-illuminant analysis, or more comprehensive quality traceability, evaluate a spectrophotometer or higher-level color-management system based on the samples and inspection objectives.

Key Features

ColorReader CR6 Features

Portable measurement, a mobile app, color-card search, and color-difference display make CR6 suitable for quick on-site color checks and color communication.

ColorReader CR6 with Bluetooth and mobile app for color measurement and color-card search
01

Portable Color Reading Tool

CR6 combines color measurement, color reading, color-card search, and color-difference assessment in a compact body. Carry it to customer sites, showrooms, job sites, design studios, or production areas for quick color checks.

The instrument connects to a mobile device via Bluetooth for viewing measurement data and color applications in the app. Actual functions depend on the app version, mobile operating system, and available color-card database.

02

Convenient Color-Difference Measurement

CR6 measures color parameters including L*a*b*, L*C*H, RGB, and Hex, and displays ΔEab and ΔE00. Set a tolerance range as a basis for preliminary evaluation.

The screen displays pass/fail results and can provide an audible alert. For formal quality acceptance, first confirm internal acceptance criteria, sample measurement methods, and repeat-measurement procedures.

03

Mobile App and Color-Card Database

The mobile app helps users build a personal color database and search color-card collections for similar colors, reducing the need to carry many physical color cards on site.

This feature supports designers, color-matching staff, customer communication, and paint or packaging sample comparisons. Verify search results against the actual sample, lighting conditions, and final approval process.

Functions

Color Tasks Supported by CR6

Color Reading

Read sample colors quickly and obtain Lab, LCh, RGB, and Hex data.

Color-Difference Assessment

Display ΔEab and ΔE00, with tolerance settings for preliminary pass/fail assessment.

Color-Card Search

Search the color-card database in the app for similar shades to support color matching and customer communication.

Color Data Management

Create a personal color database for sample records, comparisons, and follow-up tracking.

Applications

Applicationss to Consider for ColorReader CR6

Design Proofing

Quickly check sample colors for design, printing, packaging, coatings, and color communication.

On-Site Color Matching

Read colors and search for similar color cards at customer sites, showrooms, or job sites.

Sample Comparison

Make preliminary color-difference checks among supplier samples, customer samples, standards, and trial samples.

Basic Quality Control

Use as a preliminary color inspection tool to quickly identify differences and guide communication.

Selection and Use Notes

ColorReader CR6 is designed for color reading, color-card search, on-site color communication, and preliminary color-difference assessment. For glossy, transparent, translucent, strongly textured, fluorescent, or uneven-color samples, first confirm the measurement location, lighting, sample surface, and internal criteria. If you need full spectral data, multi-illuminant analysis, SCI/SCE switching, or formal supply-chain quality acceptance, consider a handheld spectrophotometer.
